Superheroes go on mission
Are you a PARTICIPATORY SUPERHERO? Are you knowledgeable about civic participation mechanisms for young people? Do you know how to use these mechanisms? What is your civic participation experience? Fill out the PARTICIPATION INDEX and get the answers! Why that is important, take a look here:
PARTICIPATION INDEX
is developed within the framework of the project MUNICIPALITY 16+. The project's aim is to improve young people’s civic participation competence in the use of civic participation mechanisms in Latvia, Slovenia and the Czech Republic.
Transparency International Latvia (Delna) with its partners European Movement – Latvia, PiNA – Association for Culture and Education (Slovenia), and NVIAS (Czech Republic) is implementing the project MUNICIPALITY 16+ from 1 September 2023 to 30 June 2026.
Why is it important to be civically active?
Society is a group of people. Children, young people, adults and elderly people live alongside one another – they have their interests, dreams and thoughts about how to live a good life. Who defends the interests of these people? The first answer what comes in mind – is the elected deputies. Is it enough that we go to vote once in four years? In a democratic society, power belongs to the people and people must know how to use it responsibly.
We encourage young people to become superheroes who use civic participation mechanisms – collaborate, express their opinions and influence societal processes, strengthening democracy through their involvement. Superheroes do not stay silent or watch from aside – they dare to speak about what is important to them, attract the attention of municipalities and the broader society, and actively advocate for a better life.
